i recently ran across artist noel rockmore in the latest issue of garden & gun magazine.  they did an intriguing piece called "the tomb of rockmore" which focuses on the recent discovery of 1400 of his pieces in new orleans.  rockmore (1928-1995) was a painter and sculptor who spent his time between new york and new orleans and claimed to have created over 15000 pieces.  rockmore experimented with many styles but focused on painting the human condition.  check out the noel rockmore project to see his work over his lifetime.
